Bankim Chandra Chatterjee fue un poeta, novelista, ensayista y periodista bengalí, famoso por ser autor de Vande Mataram o Bande Mataram, obra que inspiró a los luchadores por la libertad de la India, y que más tarde fue declarada canción nacional de la India.
