Oliver Goldsmith fue un escritor y médico irlandés, conocido sobre todo por su novela El vicario de Wakefield , su poema pastoral La aldea abandonada , y sus obras The Good-natur'd Man y Doblegada para vencer . También se cree que escribió el cuento clásico para niños The History of Little Goody Two Shoes. Perteneció al círculo del Dr Samuel Johnson, quien siempre tendría en alta estima su obra . Se cree que Johnson redactó y corrigió muchos de los poemas de Goldsmith. Wikipedia
