Scott Adams es un dibujante y autor de la tira diaria Dilbert, una crítica ácida y mordaz contra la burocracia, el sistema de las grandes empresas privadas y otros aspectos de la sociedad.

Adams se licenció en Ciencias Económicas en Hartwick College, en Oneonta, Nueva York, y obtuvo un MBA en la Universidad de California en Berkeley. Después de haber pasado años trabajando para el Crocker National Bank y nueve años para Pacific Bell, Adams decidió lanzarse al mundo de los cartoon syndicates, enviando sus tiras en el año 1988.

Mantuvo su trabajo en Pacific Bell hasta 1995. Hoy en día Dilbert se publica en 1200 periódicos por todo el mundo y Scott Adams ha publicado varios libros, entre ellos El Principio de Dilbert.

Ahora trabaja para "The Courier-Journal Newspaper" de Louisville, Kentucky.

Él también es el gerente de Scott Adams Foods, Inc., creadores del Dilberito & Protein Chef, y copropietario del "Stacey's Café" en Pleasanton, California. Las razones de su interés en el negocio de la alimentación vienen de su condición vegetariana.

Scott Adams es un gran fan de la serie de televisión de ciencia ficción Babylon 5. Él hizo incluso una aparición en el episodio de la temporada 4 "Moments of Transition" como personaje llamado Mr. Adams, quien contrata al jefe de seguridad Michael Garibaldi para que encuentre a su perro.
