Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck es el Rey Dragón de Bután, pequeño reino del Himalaya. Es el primer hijo varón del anterior monarca butanés Jigme Singye Wangchuck[3]​ y de la tercera esposa de este, Ashi Tshering Yangdon.[1]​ Su sucesión se produjo por la abdicación de aquel el 14 de diciembre de 2006. El Rey tiene una hermana y un hermano menores de doble vínculo y cuatro hermanas y tres hermanos más solo de padre.

Su título es en el idioma de Bután, el dzongkha es "Mang-pos-Bhur ba'i rgyalpo, Druk Gyalpo".[4]​ Wikipedia
