“You are what you believe yourself to be.”

Paulo Coelho libro The Witch of Portobello

Fuente: The Witch of Portobello (2007), p. 152.
Contexto: You are what you believe yourself to be.
Don't be like those people who believe in "positive thinking" and tell themselves that they're loved and strong and capable. You don't need to do that because you know it already. And when you doubt it — which happens, I think, quite often at this stage of evolution — do as I suggested. Instead of trying to prove that you're better than you think, just laugh. Laugh at your worries and insecurities. View your anxieties with humor. It will be difficult at first, but you'll gradually get used to it. Now go back and meet all those people who think you know everything. Convince yourself that they're right, because we all know everything, it's merely a question of believing.
Believe.

“When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”

Paulo Coelho libro El alquimista

E quando você quer alguma coisa, todo o Universo conspira para que você realize seu desejo.
Variante: And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.
Fuente: The Alchemist (1988), p. 22; a variant of this has become attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson: "Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen" — but no occurrence of this a statement has been located prior to in The Gift of Depression : Twenty-one Inspirational Stories Sharing Experience, Strength, and Hope (2001) by John F. Brown, p. 56

“Wherever your heart is, that is where you'll find your treasure.”

Compare to the Bible, Luke 12:34 (For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.)(NIV translation).
Variante: Remember that wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure.

“When each day is the same as the next, it’s because people fail to recognize the good things that happen in their lives every day that the sun rises.”

Paulo Coelho libro El alquimista

“The parents always insisted on telling their child that their secret friends didn't exist — perhaps because they had forgotten that they too had spoken to their angel at one time.”

Paulo Coelho libro Valquirias

Fuente: The Valkyries (1992), p.132.
Contexto: The parents always insisted on telling their child that their secret friends didn't exist — perhaps because they had forgotten that they too had spoken to their angel at one time. Or, who knows, perhaps they thought they lived in a world where there was no longer any place for angels. Disenchanted, the angels had returned to God's side, knowing that they could no longer impose their presence.

“What hurts us is what heals us.”

Paulo Coelho libro Aleph
