Sheikh Mujibur Rahman fue un político bengalí y el líder fundador de Bangladés, considerado el Padre de la Patria. Encabezó la Liga Awami, fungió como el primer Presidente de Bangladés y, más tarde, se convirtió en Primer Ministro. Es popularmente conocido como Sheikh Mujib y con el título honorífico de Bangabandhu . Su hija mayor, Sheikh Hasina es la actual líder de la Liga Awami y actual Primera Ministra de Bangladés.
