William «Bill» Jefferson Clinton , fue el 42º presidente de los Estados Unidos en los periodos de 1993-1997 y 1997-2001, siendo el tercer presidente más joven de la nación. Previamente fue gobernador del estado de Arkansas entre los años 1983 y 1992. Venció a George H. W. Bush en 1992 y luego a Bob Dole en 1996 por las elecciones presidenciales para los periodos respectivos de esos comicios. Al final de su presidencia, Clinton y su administración dejaban la Casa Blanca con un superávit de 559.000 millones de dólares y una aprobación de su gestión del 76%, la más alta para un presidente de Estados Unidos desde la Segunda Guerra Mundial.

Entre otras ocupaciones, desde 2010 es honorary chancellor de la red de universidades Laureate International Universities.
