Cheryl Strayed nombre de nacimiento Chery Nyland Lambrecht, es una escritora y bloguera estadounidense.

Hija de Bobbi Lambrecht y Ronald Nyland. Estudió en la Universidad de Siracusa. Se licenció con cum laude de dos especialidades de literatura inglesa y estudios femeninos. Trabajó de camarera, su madre falleció cuando ella tenía 22 años y cuando tenía 28 años se resuelve hacer una caminata por el Sendero Macizo del Pacífico o SMP.[1]​

Recopila la experiencia en la autobiografía Salvaje, libro que fue superventas.

Cheryl Strayed decide caminar más de mil kilómetros del Sendero del Macizo del Pacífico sola, como una manera de curarse a sí misma, a raíz de su divorcio, la muerte de su madre, y los años de conducta imprudente destructiva.[2]​ El Sendero del Macizo del Pacífico es un camino de 4264 km desde México hasta Canadá atravesado tres estados de la costa oeste estadounidense. En el viaje de supervivencia física y mental va encontrando su propio camino.[3]​[4]​

Se realizó una adaptación cinematográfica del libro, la película Alma salvaje. Fue la productora y actriz Reese Witherspoon quien interpretó a Cherryl Strayed.[5]​[6]​ Wikipedia
