John Wyndham Parkes Lucas Beynon Harris, escritor británico, nacido el 10 de julio de 1903 en Knowle y fallecido en 1969.
Hijo de un abogado, intentó varias profesiones hasta que comenzó a escribir a finales de los 30, donde sus relatos cortos detectivescos o de ciencia ficción alcanzaron un éxito limitado. Se enroló en el ejército británico durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, y participó en el desembarco de Normandía.
