Richard Henry Sellers, más conocido como Peter Sellers , fue un actor y comediante británico. Fue investido miembro de la Orden del Imperio Británico.

Nacido en el seno de una familia de artistas del vaudeville, inició su carrera con el grupo cómico The Goons, cuya serie The Goon Show en la emisora de radio BBC tuvo una gran influencia en la sociedad británica de 1951 a 1960.

Tras convertirse en estrella en el Reino Unido durante los años 1950, el actor alcanzaría la fama internacional en la siguiente década, coronándose como uno de los rostros de comedia más populares de la pantalla grande durante los años 60 y 70.

Entre sus papeles más reconocidos se incluyen los de películas como Lolita y Dr. Strangelove , ambas dirigidas por Stanley Kubrick, y por las cinco películas de la serie de La pantera rosa, dirigidas por Blake Edwards.
