Roger Vernon Scruton, FBA, FRSL, nacido el 27 de febrero de 1944, es un filósofo inglés especializado en estética. Scruton también ha escrito dos novelas y una serie de libros de texto sobre filosofía y cultura, y ha compuesto dos óperas.

Scruton fue un académico y profesor de estética en Birkbeck College, Londres, de 1971 hasta 1992. Desde 1992, ha mantenido plazas a tiempo parcial en Boston University, el American Enterprise Institute en Washington, D.C., y la University of St Andrews.[4]​ En 1982 ayudó a fundar The Salisbury Review, un periódico político de corte conservador, que editó durante dieciocho años,[5]​ y fundó el Claridge Press en 1987.
