Lorraine Hansberry fue una activista, dramaturga y escritora estadounidense, que participó en la lucha por la igualdad.[1]​

Su obra más famosa, Un lunar en el sol , escrita en 1959, se inspiró en la batalla legal emprendida por su familia y en contra de las leyes de segregación racial en Chicago durante su infancia.

Hansberry inspiró la canción "To Be Young, Gifted and Black" de la cantante y pianista Nina Simone.

Fue nominada en los premios Premio Tony a la mejor obra y en los Premios WGA al drama estadounidense mejor escrito. Wikipedia

I don't mean for yourself and for the family 'cause we lost the money. I mean for him; what he's been through and what it done to him. Child, when do you think is the time to love somebody the most; when they done good and made things easy for everybody? Well then, you ain't through learning — because that ain't the time at all.
