Michael Lawson Bishop es un escritor de ciencia ficción estadounidense, ganador de varios premios literarios. A lo largo de cuatro décadas y unos treinta libros, ha creado un cuerpo de trabajos que permanecen entre los más admirados en la literatura de ciencia ficción y fantasía modernas.

Bishop ha sido premiado con el Premio Nébula a la mejor novela, en 1982 por Sólo un enemigo: el tiempo, y con el Premio Nébula al mejor relato en 1981 por La vivificación.[1]​ También recibió cuatro premios Locus y su obra ha sido nominada para varios premios Hugo. En julio de 2009 La pila recibió el premio Shirley Jackson por el mejor relato de 2008.[2]​

En 1993 20th Century Fox seleccionó a su novela Jugadas decisivas para una película, y adquirió los derechos en 1995.[3]​ Wikipedia
