Mijaíl Serguéyevich Gorbachov es un abogado y político ruso que fue secretario General del Partido Comunista de la Unión Soviética de 1985 hasta 1989 y presidente de la Unión Soviética de 1989 a 1991. Recibió el Premio Nobel de la Paz en 1990 y actualmente es líder de la Unión de Socialdemócratas, un partido formado después de la disolución oficial del Partido Socialdemócrata de Rusia en 2007.
