“Poco a poco Dios nos quita la belleza humana:
poco a poco el árbol joven se marchita.
Ve y recita: “Todo cuanto está dotado de vida,
acabará pereciendo”.
No te enamores de los huesos,
busca el espíritu.”

“¿Qué es lo que realmente posees
y lo que has adquirido en esta vida?
¿Qué perlas has sacado
de las profundidades del mar?
En el día de tu muerte
tus sentidos físicos desaparecerán.
¿Tienes la luz espiritual
que ilumine tu corazón?
Cuando en la tumba tus ojos se llenen de polvo
¿brillará tu sepultura intensamente?”

“Mucho más allá de las ideas de lo que está mal y de lo que está bien, hay un lugar. Te conoceré allí.”

“¿Por qué te sorprende que un espíritu humano no pueda recordar de dónde ha venido, dónde se originó y dónde residía antes de nacer? En este mundo que es como un sueño, el espíritu humano está rodeado por un velo como el que forman las nubes ocultando las estrellas, y ya no puede seguir viendo su antigua morada espiritual. La labor del espíritu humano en la Tierra es purificar su corazón para ver a través de ese velo y centrarse en el reino espiritual. El corazón debe penetrar el misterio de esta vida y percibir el principio y el final con una clara visión.”

“Cada rosa fragante nos está contando los secretos de lo Universal.”

“El movimiento de las olas,
día y noche, viene del mar,
tú ves las olas, pero, ¡qué extraño!
no ves el mar.”

“Cuando el oído es penetrante, se convierte en ojo.
De lo contrario, la palabra de Dios se enreda
en el oído y no llega al corazón.”

“Has sufrido tormentos
pero aún así sigues estando lejos de Dios,
porque no has alcanzado

Tus tormentos no cesarán

No puedes llegar al tejado
a no ser que asciendas por la escalera.
Si faltan dos travesaños
no podrás subir por ella,
si la cuerda del pozo es demasiado corta
el cubo no llegará al agua.”

del que posee el Aliento,
todo lo que no cabe
ni en palabras ni en definiciones.
Cierra tus labios y podrás oír
del Sol lo que no viene
ni en libros ni en discursos.
Cierra tus labios y hablará
el Espíritu por ti.
Únete a los amigos en el arca de Noé.”

“Más allá de las ideas de actuar bien y actuar mal, se extiende un campo. Allí nos encontraremos.”

“Mientras el sediento busca agua
el agua está también buscando al sediento.”

“¿Dónde encontrar a Mawlānā? Una visita a Konya muestra que la verdadera casa del maestro del amor Divino no es una ciudad, ni un país, ni ningún otro sitio sobre la tierra, sino los corazones de aquellos que están sedientos del vino del amor.”

In the people of Hindustan the idiom of Hindustan is praiseworthy; in the people of Sind, the idiom of Sind is praiseworthy. I do not see the outward and the speech; I see the inward and the state [of feeling]. For the heart is the substance and speech an accident. So, the accident is subservient, the substance is the [real] object. The religion of love stands apart from all religions. For lovers the [only] religion and creed is God.”

called the Far Mosque, is not built of earth
and water and stone, but of intention and wisdom
